Training Overview :

Hear from experienced nurse leaders on current challenges, changes and opportunities for growth during and after the Covid-19 global pandemic across The Bahamas. Contribute to discussions based on observations, research, and real life on the ground experiences of nurses in The Bahamas thus far.

Training Objectives :

Overall Objectives

  1. To create a space for nurse clinicians, administrators, researchers, educators and students to network and discuss current challenges and innovations in nursing care across the nursing diaspora of The Bahamas.
  2. To encourage and influence nurses to share new lessons, observations and suggestions to address emerging and current issues in nursing in The Bahamas
  3. To facilitate the sharing of knowledge and ideas among nurses to improve good patient/ staff outcomes and work environments in healthcare in The Bahamas

Learner Outcomes

  1. Discuss the challenges and impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on maternal and child health care, nursing education, public access to healthcare and the mental health of staff and patients
  2. Explore innovative strategies, ideas, and research opportunities to address identified challeges in patient and staff care 
  3. Reflect keenly on personal experiences of the nurse as the patient, gaps in care and create dialogue to improve experiences and outcomes moving forward.
